Little Prince:

He has seen me through so much. In early 2002 he was a stray hanging around and often the only reason I got outside some days, to feed and play with him, my mental health was not good. He really wanted to live with me lol, my then neighbor reluctantly took him because I had 3 cats already. He was downstairs maybe 2 weeks, lol, because when he would see me from the window he would go crazy trying to get out and hearing me come in the main door he would scream. So, I said, “come on, let’s go upstairs!” He remained as up my bum as he was back then.

My words were back then, already having 3 cats and not needing another, “he’ll be no trouble, no trouble at all.” And he hasn’t been!

His last few months, he really hung in there like a champ. Playing a bit, though he became thin and frail but never in pain and demanding his canned fishy treats more often. Always purring so loud, SO loud! He was my alarm clock, the only one of my fur-kids to really act very human. Never far from me and always under foot. I knew Saturday the 24th it was a matter of a day or two and I told him, “you let me know when you’re ready.” He did, and I held him as he went on ahead of me…

Little Prince loved to play hide and seek, he hated being covered up, he loved to stick his claw in the top of my head to wake me and most of all drinking out of my water glass.

I really miss him, 17 years is a long time and he really was/is a big part of who I am…
