Where to start! I remember bringing you home at just 6 weeks old. You despised car rides till much later in life and you always made sure to get car sick… including your ride home that first day. From non stop kisses, destroying 2 sectionals and taking the kids out every chance you got…. your puppy years were always on the go.
You and Duke were inseparable and what began as getting him a companion to play with turned into such an amazing bond that left you two In seperable until Duke’s passing in 2019. You were through it all with us. From 3 moves, kids and every milestone memory we had…. you were there with us.
We decided to get you a new friend in 2022 as you were still attempting to live out your puppy years. We brought home Dutchess and you came right back to life. Playing fetch in the yard and sniffing the chickens and ducks became your daily tasks. By 14 years of age you decided you ran this household and started letting yourself in and out of the house. You ensured you were right at our car doors when we got home to greet us… just wagging your tail and smiling from Ear to ear. We celebrated your birthday this xmas eve with your favorite…. cup cakes and had an amazing steak dinner to honor you turning 16.
By New Years day I knew you were tired. You had lived thee fullest life a best friend with 4 legs could and I knew you were ready to join your brother Duke in that amazing field and run free again. You partied with us one last time as we rang in 2026 as a family. On Friday, January 2nd you were ready. At 3:02pm I held you in my lap and told you it was ok to go and join Duke… We would be ok. You looked at me and gave me a wink and a smile and I held you as you left this world. You had the biggest smile on your face which reassured me Duke was there to meet you. I cant picture our lives without you. I cant remember what any given day felt like without you in it. Until we meet again my sweet baby girl ❤️
Love,
Mim, Alyssa, Ethan, Dutchess and your flocks of chickens and ducks
