As a family of 6 with 4 young children we were ready to add the missing piece to our clan. We were all on board ready to contribute to the well being of having a puppy around, providing them a good and loving home to grow up along side of our children. Bringing Scully into our family has been a wonderful experience that brought us immense joy, love, and companionship. Her love and unwavering loyalty were boundless, and we reciprocated that love and care, and created an unbreakable bond that enriched the lives of our family. She was one of kind! Picking the breed came easy since my husband grew up with a Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier. I remember searching for weeks until I found a breeder in Arkansas as there wasnt any close by. She had posted a liter of recently born Wheatons. Looking through the photos of puppies we fell in love with a female named Honey. It was clear to me we were meant to be together since her name was the same as my previous dog, my Cocker Spaniel Hunney. We continued with final arrangements to get her home. Waiting with much anticipation for the day of her arrival to pick her up from the airport. Upon entering, heading straight to the flight arrival, we were greeted with an adorable 14 week old pup which looked to be as fluffy as a little bear cub in a pet carrier, and she was very anxious to get out. Her big brown puppy eyes and wagging little tail (egg roll) melted our hearts instantly. Since then, she filled our days with endless laughter, unconditional love, and an immense amount of loyalty. We will forever cherish the memories we’ve created together. From our long walks to the lake, the hikes we went, and our cottage travels to Seneca Lake. Together, we have explored new places, met new friends (both human and furry), and embarked on numerous adventures that have filled our hearts with happiness. Whether it was cuddling on the couch, resting her head on the bottom of the coffee table or window ledge or guarding the house with her vigilant barks, she was always there for our family. No matter how challenging the day, she had the power to ease our worries and bring a smile to our faces. She would listen to our crys without judgement, providing comfort with a simple nuzzle or gentle lick. We will never forget the many shoe laces or the radar detector cord she had eaten in my car too. Her playful antics and boundless energy remind me of her chasing the kids around the pool until her feet were raw. She adored swimming besides the kids and jumping in the pool to catch them when they jumped off the diving board. Every moment spent with her we will hold dear. I am forever grateful for the countless memories! Watching you age was a heart-wrenching and emotional experience. As you grew older, you started to show signs of physical decline and health issues, reminding us of your mortality. Witnessing our once energetic and playful companion slow down, struggle with getting up, laying down, and face the challenges of old age was incredibly difficult. Your energy and activity levels had declined. You became less interested interacting, or long walks, preferring to rest and sleep a lot more. Seeing you become less active and lose enthusiasm for things you once loved was hard to accept. Your physical appearance and posture had changed which was another visible reminder of the signs of you fading. Aging took a toll on your body, and watching you struggle with mobility was heartbreaking. You developed arthritis, hearing loss, and incontinence. Witnessing you struggle to perform tasks you once did effortlessly, such as climbing stairs, chasing a ball, or chewing a toy was unsettling. We were faced with the daunting decision regarding your quality of life.Although you are not physically with us anymore, please know Scully, that you were not just a pet to us, you were a beloved member of our family! The love and joy you brought to our home was immeasurable. Your presence transformed our lives in the most beautiful way, and I cannot imagine life without you now. Thank you, dear Scully Bear for being the incredible dog that you were to us. The love and happiness you brought to our lives are beyond words. I promise to keep a special place in my heart for you always. May you know it was the hardest decision and how difficult it was to let you go. My heart is broken, our home will miss your presence and I cant imagine life without now. Our journey together has come to an end but I will always hold on to knowing we will embrace each other again. With all our love and affection, rest easy Scully Bear Matt, Michelle, Lauren, Emma, Megan and Dylan
