My dearest friend, my steadfast support, not a day has passed that I haven’t thought of you. I recall the very first time I saw you; you were resting on that cot, having just returned from your procedure. Two days later, I was able to bring you home from the shelter. You were such a delightful and charming companion, and it wasn’t long before you became the heart of our home, playfully interacting with our cats and eventually befriending them. When my niece came to live with us, you were already advancing in years, a rather grumpy old gentleman when she was a baby. Yet, the two of you quickly formed a wonderful bond, and even now, I find myself missing you dearly.
