Peanut was a rescue Dalmation from Puerto Rico so if I may let me set the stage for you.

It was Feburary 2009 and there was approximately 7″ of snow in the yard. We didn’t have the invisible fence set up for him yet so I was left with the collar & leash to hang on to him. Well, it was about 6am in the morning and dark and he had to go out to do his business. So, here we go….I had my boots on but no socks. Snow was getting in my boots and Peanut decided to investigate the white stuff. He went around the lamp post so I figured I’d just switch hands and bring him around….sounds easy enough…right??? The leash got tangled so without thinking I unhooked his leash and away he went. Well, after calling him and some keen looking…..I found him in front of a snowpile on our private drive. footnote: it is darn near impossible to find a dalmation standing in front of a snowpile at 6am…LOL I thought I’ll just grab him as he comes past me…..He thinks I’m playing a game and he flies past me and goes zipping up the driveway and sitting in front of the door and wagging his tale…..as if to say…..I beat ya dad.

He was rewarded with a biscuit for doing the right thing. That was our dog in a nut shell.
